Emily’s Top Ten Highlights from High Point Market

I finally got to attend my very first High Point Market, and it was amazing! Kathy Ireland invited me to view her line along with a little meet and greet.  After getting over the star struck moment I snuck away to see what else the 2018 Fall market had in store for us.  As soon as I got home I had to quickly write this blog post so I could share all the highlights from the event.

High Point Market is located in High Point, North Carolina and is known as the design industry’s biggest market event. It was like New York’s Fashion Week but for interior designers.  It’s perfect for interior designers and buyers to discover new finds as well as visit favorite vendors and see their latest lines. The market is massive so make sure if you go, to get a map.  encompassing many large buildings in downtown High Point and is very well-attended by people from all over the world.

I thought it would be fun to share my top ten moments and picks from the show, as well as design trends and home furnishings and décor products that caught my eye. Enjoy!

Go Bold or Go Home

There were tons of Bold furniture pieces like this one.

Lush green with cool blues were trending all over the market.

Wall Paper

Tempaper wallpaper makes the most gorgeous (and removable) wallpaper.  I wanted every piece!

I saw lots of animal prints in accent chairs!

Edgy Pieces

We all have a wild side in us and I thought it was great some designers were encouraging that.

Dangerous Curves

This chair was too comfy, I had to lay in it (and paid someone to listen to me talk) but there were tons of chaises and chairs with very curvy lines.

There was still a lot of Miami white especially in the home office decor.

Adult Kids

The kids lines were so amazing! Move over princesses, these interior designers are all about lamas and modern bunny chairs.

Art Deco

There were lots of art deco pieces that were catching my eye.

Larger Than Life Paintings

There were lots of painting that would fill up entire wall spaces.  They definitely set the mood.

High Point Market was such an amazing experience! I cannot wait to go back again, and if you’re ever there be on the look out for Vishionary cards!
