Okay, I am throwing it back about a week to Cinco de Mayo. I always have a great time celebrating this holiday, it feels like the official start of spring. The warm weather mixes with college students’ classes-are-done-for-the-semester-and-it’s-almost-summer attitude, setting high expectations for the evening.
I am a little skeptical venturing to a popular Mexican restaurant/bar on Cinco de Mayo due to the crowd. However, stopping by one of them on May 5th should be a requirement. I want to avoid spending my night standing in lines.
Tacos, Tequila, and Good Times
The inside and outside of Hot Taco are packed (in a good way), as well as the neighboring bars. The spot’s annual block party consists of festive music, colorful lights, and bright-patterned clothing lifting my spirits, even while suffering from horrible allergies. I did not eat tacos or drink tequila — but here is a peak into the experience if you missed out on the good times.
The festivities inspire highly saturated decorative pieces to brighten up any room for the spring and summer months. Switch out your throw pillows or hand towels with to revitalize your living space.
My floral print, Topshop dress is perfect for the occasion. I picked some similar flowered options below in case you are also feeling the flower power.
Is it too early to look forward to next year?
